Dave, are you still having those cells?

Rick, I'll still have that 21 pinion off you, if you bring it!

Good news I think, the cells that shorted across the chasis today and caused the smoking Mardave seem to be OK, they all had a voltage of 1.31V when I checked them at home. And while discharging they are staying within a couple 1/100th of a Volt. Thanks to Chris and Ste for the rescue Job.

So I will balance them and try them next time (after I rebuild a batter holder for the Mardave) - what do you think the chances of them being OK are Rick? (since you are an experinced and current NiMh user).

since it was "only" a large discharge current over the whole pack, then maybe they will be ok. make sure they hold voltage over the next few days.

as for the battery holder i'm using the cobra holder just needs a tiny bit on modifying to make sure it holds the cells tight down
