LiPos apparantly still being assesed for approval:

and presumably what Paul said to Rick still holds that we can use GP3700/GP3300s at regionals, not that many of us want to!

You can count me out if I can't run lipos. There would be no point in taking part, as my car would be miles off the pace.

looks like they've sorted the lipo's out for 12th guys

also the TC board have some common sense...

IMPORTANT: The TC section committee has agreed that the 2008 list will be grandfathered into the 2009 rules, allowing all cells on the 2008 list to be used at BRCA sanctioned events so protecting the investment made by those drivers who bought cells in 2008.

just need to wait for the offical electric board 2s list for buggys.

for this year only!

more news.....

Hi All.

A few facts :-

1. A BRCA list of approved Lipo cells is almost complete and shows some 57 different lipo approved cells (42 sticks and 15 saddles). In fact it should be completed today and following a final OK by the Electric Board should appear on the BRCA website sometime over the weekend (subject to the webmasters availability).

2. The amount of work which has gone into production of this list has been immence!
Emails between the Manufacturers and the BRCA alone have topped 1000 since the AGM approved the dimensions.
The adoption of this new technology has required all cells on this BRCA list to be measured, weighed, photographed etc since the end of January 2009 closing date for cell submission, as opposed to just the few new/updated cells received in a normal year.
We should be eternally grateful that the BRCA has someone with the knowledge and commitment to undertake this work on our behalf and give so freely of his time.

3. As explained already on the BRCA website stockists have rightly been waiting for the list to be published to avoid committing themselves to none BRCA approved stock. This is completely understandable so it may take a little time longer before stocks of every cell type are available for purchase.

Thank you for your continued patience - it will not be long now!

Sec. BRCA 1/10th Off-Road Section.

I guess we will be spoilet for choice, not good news on the prices though:

http://www.brca.org/BRCA/elecboard/news ... df%201.pdf

Up to £100 for LiPos, I wonder how many existing packs will increase in price to meet this.

Brushless motors are £90 for spec and £95 for modified motors.
