Has anyone done any advertising to promote the club?
How are we suposed to gain new members if people dont even know we exsist? also the fact its down as a preson club dont help.

Do we have anyone in the club who would be able to make some posters? just a simple design with club logo web address etc printed on a A4 sheet that we could have put up in shops etc. Its cheep and may drag in a few more members. Any other ideas?

We had 4 people today and no track, I know some of u had other comitments which is fare enough but its not the first time this summer there has been a poor turn out and im just wondering where this will end.

we have done some advertising before - all the meetings we do in summer at shows could be classed as advertising, and we had some posters put up around the place (that might be two years ago tho), and even gave a load to a couple of model shops to hand out and put in with kits. Maybe its time to have another do at it. Tom's the man if we need more/new posters doing......hint hint....

Hint Hint taken, but we need to figure out the best placements for getting new members, where that be at a model shop or trying to get in the local schools. I think the key is with the younger members as we have found in the past that when one starts more become interested.

So what do we want to advertise on a poster / flyer? I think we need to get them professionally printed, so if we get a 100 or so printed, can I have a little bit of budget?

Discussion open.

Flyers are usually present in model shops. Not sure there is a model shop in Kendal though. So I guess you can only put them in the lancaster / preston shops. I think I read dave said there was one in Barrow. Might be one in blackpool. But we are spreading the net quite wide.

If we do posters where will we put them?

Did we pick up any new members from the summer shows? I have not seen any new faces recently.

Will be interesting to see what the indoor turn out is.

In the olden days when we had a permanent track and we raced everyweek it used to be ok getting new members as we were there come rain or shine week in week out. Now we are racing all over the show and it can be several weeks between visits to Vicarage park.

Has anyone ever contacted the Westmorland gazette or the lancaster guardian for them to run an editorial on us? Do we need to look at doing more prominent events during the summer to try and raise the profile of the club? Do we try advertising in different areas to again raise the profile of the club?

I think if we do posters we need to include a full dates list of when we race, similar to what Warton Stock cars do. That way you always know when it is on, so you might just fancy poping along which is probably the key to getting members interested. And If they can have a go with someones car or truck (ian and the slash) it might hook them in.

Just need to get nutices up in loads of places like schools, shops, supermarkets on the notice boards etc.

I Know the lad running the model/auto parts shop in barrow and he has sold loads of nitro buggys/trucks so there is definatly people interested in rc cars in barrow and im sure he would put up a flyer/poster for us.

Flyers in schools could be a idea but the only problem with advertising to kids is the fact that they may not be able to travel to burton or where ever we are during the summer, saying that it would be nice to see some farther/son racing going on.

As for a facebook group i cant see that working im already in RC nitro cumbria we dont get any new members just same old people, we use it to organse when we gona go and destroy our cars lol

Also the ideas of a premanent track and racing every week no matter what the weather sounds good :)

Well let's start with advertising in local paper and posters in schools and shops. I donlt think we can get out a long term calendar due to the number of events we do. We need firm dates for the events and they might not be available so far in advance. Rick is this the case?

We also need to start following through on ideas and creating actions for people. I propose the committee gets together once a month to get actions off the groud. How about a meeting after a race meeting, all committee members should meet for 30 min at the first meeting of the month.

Rick can you include this info in the new indoor dates.
