I stopped at the BMX track for a Slash on the way to work this morning. The weather was great and it was almost dry, that place seems to hold water though as there were plenty of treacherous mud puddles about. I had planned to stay clear of them but didn't take long for me to spin straight into one.

The truck was designed for this kind of surface, compared to the E-Zilla or a brushless buggy, speeds and jumps were small, but the handling made it fun. It has hardly any understeer at all, but when the rear goes it's controllable, so you just get a big fat powerslide :D. I did loads of jumps, but only went upside down once after decking it into the second hump of a double, the rest of the time staying flat and landing on the squashy suspension. Could have done with a better sound track, it sounded pretty crappy with the weezy motor and body rattling around.

Probably going to go again on Saturday morning if anyone fancies some bashing?

I went to the BMX track again today, attempted a power slide photo, but was pretty crap while I was driving at the same time, so just a static one. It was dry and fun driving, I can barely go a day without a Slash at the moment.

I started to get to grips with landing it on all 4's, rather than smacking the front or rear into the ground first. It is hard to roll though, despite loads of jumps I only rolled once, and then back onto it's wheels. I got brave with some of the bigger jumps and a decent run up, if you don't land on all 4's it tends to run out of suspension very quickly on landing, with a big crack as it bottoms out, no damage though.

It doesn't have a LiPo cut off, so I was scared of letting the LiPo go flat and chickened out after 20 mins of bashing, but just come home and put it on charge and it's taken less than 2000mAh on a 4900mAh battery.

Looked good. How did the lap times compare with buggies?

We never really had them on the track at the same time, but I think it would be pretty slow, handling was nice, but corner speeds were probably lower than a buggy and it was much slower than our brushless monsters on the straights.
