One on ebay at the moment, if you want to kiss interference good bye and experience Futaba's High Speed Response system:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0338937365

£75 including postage at the moment.

Got mine yesterday and took it racing at Preston, felt great and sneaked an A final win not bad first time out.

That one's just been withdrawn, glad I didn't wait for it then.

I got mine from Microtech for £182, I was a little lucky because they had one with a tatty box for £15 off their current price of £197:

http://www.microtechracing.com//product ... ITS+2.4GHZ

That's about as cheap as they are now, not much point looking abroad either. DMS Racing ran out of stock at £170 last week. Most places are now over £200.

They were going for £150 a year ago, damn sterling! There may be some places with stock at the old prices, the only one I found was:

http://www.rccarshop.co.uk/catalog/prod ... ts_id=3171

He'd got one in at £180, but the receiver was missing and he was waiting for a replacement to come in. It could be the cheapest option if you could wait for the receiver to come in.

My KO cost £225 back in 1998, doesn't sound so bad like that :?.

The other thing to think about is extra receivers, they are very expensive in the UK, best part of £100. They are very widely available and can be imported for £60-70, but still much more than most 40MHz stuff.

Fow can you tell if t is the withdrawn one.
Are you using a digital servo with it too?

I meant the one on ebay I linked above has been withdrawn sometime since I posted it, it now says:

"The seller ended this listing early because the item was lost or broken."

I am running digital servos, nothing very fancy, some Hitec ones, but in order to use HRS mode they do need to be digital. At some point I'll try it in PPM to see if I can tell the difference, not sure how much of the speed I feel is down to HRS and how much down to 2.4, or other areas of the radio.

A lot of the pictures on the model shops show the 40mhz version (is that the FS?) I think as it has the telescopic antenna. The rx price and the fact I am running a KO 1001 fet servo in my buggy are only things that had me a bit worried about buying one.

I think there's three versions:

http://www.ripmax.com/7index.asp?catego ... ter=Futaba

Two 40MHz and one 2.4GHz. The two 40MHz ones have, I think, the same synthesised transmitter. So there's no crystal on the Tx, it synthesises the frequency. The cheapest one comes with a regular crystal Rx, but the more expensive one comes with a synthesised Rx as well, I think you set the frequency using multi position switches or something at the Rx end. So this is easier and cheaper than swapping/buying crystals, but is no more immune to inteference.

All three have switchable HRS/PPM modes and all three have to be run in PPM for an analogue servo.

I've no idea how response compares across the 3.

Analogue or digital servos there's no downside to the 2.4, just a big step in cost especially considering the Rxs. A big step in capability to me though, no interference, no changing crystals and easy swapping between cars and hopefully a long term investment. In hind sight wish I'd got it a year ago.

Loads of free stuff in the US at the moment, this would ease the pain:

http://www.futaba-rc.com/promos/fut-free-rx-0209.html

Buy a 4pk or 3pk radio and get a free extra receiver! That would have been handy over here.

If I'd bought my E-Revo in the US I'd have got 2 free packs of batteries.

I will be in the US from the 23rd so if anyone wants to take advantage of any offers please let me know. You also save on postage. Don't buy anything big!
