Hi guys i am new here and this is my first post(thanks Jim for site address).I have been bashing with nitro for about 4 years but have just(yesterday)bought myself an e-revo :D .I want to go brushless in the future but i am a total brushless newbie.I dont have a massive budget but i would like to be able to get around 45mph out of it.Could anyone recomend a good not to expensive system?.I have seen the ezrun ones for £158 delivered and i dont think i am going to get any cheaper than that. Also can i run nimhs or do i realy have to go lipo? Thanks for any advice.Martin.

welcome to the club :D I've just recently bought an E-revo too (whats it like with the standard brushed motors?) as soon as I got it I put a novak HV pro in, which is perhaps slightly over your budget, unless you get it from the states! just did a quick price check, and there $215 (£135) from www.losipartshouse.com) add postage and import duty (if you get stung) and its still well under £200! as much power as you could want from a well respected brand, and have proven to be reliable by everyone who has them at our club.

As for lipos, there not neded, but I'd swap to them as soon as you can afford, or when your nimh's die.

Thanks for the welcome and info ste.I havent run it yet like you did i am thinking about pulling the motors and esc out while they are new and putting the money towards a brushless set up :D .Is it the 4.5t novak that you would recomend? If so what gearing would you recomend for some good top end but not enough to overheat it?Thanks for the link.I am very tempted by that system.

its the 4.5 that Ive got, and would recommend it if your after some real speed :D running mine with 2 packs of lipos and it a little bit insane! using the standard spur (whatever that is) with a 14 or 15 tooth pinion. Ive got the two speed box in it too, which adds a low or crawler gear to the standard gear, but you'l need radio gear with 3 channels for that.

Another one to consider (but more pricey) is the mamba monster, which is meant to be just about the most powerful you can get currently! (I think)

I have just been looking on DMS and they do the Novak 4.5t pro for £195 which is alot cheaper than the other uk shops i have seen it on.The mmm is crazy money like you say at £270 odd :( .I have been reading that the mmm is breaking alot of the e-revos as its just to powerfull and it would kill nimh batteries in no time  .I think i will have to go lipo in the future but a charger and the batteries are a bit pricey aswell.I think i need a better paying job.

Novak for £195 in the UK is pretty good. MMM is more powerful but it's tough to use any more power anyway. The Novak is simple and works. See this vid of my 4.5

I would definitely go LiPo, they will be better in everyway, just pay attention to the charging instructions and don't let them go flat.

Hope you bring yours down, would be cool to have a few E-Revos.

Ste how's your's going?

mines going good now ta :D I was having interference/lack of range issues, turns out its just newton - something in the area seems to really reduce the range on both 40mhz and 27. Took it to the docks the other day and really enjoyed it, for the 5 mins or so before my transmitter battey died :( shold get chance for a play tomorro tho as Im off work :D
