I wouldn't mind looking at getting a mardave if we are starting a class for them. Do they race them at Morecambe, does anyone know what the numbers are like there for the mardave class if they do run them?

We used to have quite a few people running in the mardave class and the club, but it came to an end once everyone was running a buggy and a TC. Mine is still in the loft if you fancy making a purchase.

There has been more Mardave's than touring cars the last few weeks at Morecambe. Have to admit I have looked longingly at them after another night of barrier bashing with my touring car.

I looked on the website
and there seems to be quite a choice:

V12BNG V12 Banger Kit 2007 Spec With V10 mounts & V7Mod £59.95
V12Club V12 Kit inc speed Controller BodyMounts and Shell £54.95
V12Race V12 Kit No speed Controller but inc Batt holder £49.95
V12Racer V12 Kit inc ViperOvalECO & Batt Holder £64.95
V12Worlds V12 Kit Worlds Edition £84.95
V12VRX V12 VRX Edition £89.99

http://www.mardaveracing.com/rckits.htm

Not really sure what is what? Are they all the same class with diffferent bits added or taken away?

Mathews running my old mardave at Preston, which used to be Daves and was tweaked according to their rules (cloned Ricks). He's now winning A finals and up near the top of the championship. if we do restart the mardave class, they will be the ones to beat :D

i'd look at getting the race one if you wanted one, there's no point having one with a wiper speed control i keep thinking about getting the worlds one, but there's no point as i'd just hack it up.

if there's enough people interested we could look at doing this again, but we'd need plenty of cars to justify the extra time it would take up, and also people would need to be more organised

i'm not sure about rules for mods, but they need to be close to standard, use 4 sub c cells and a 540SH brca approved motor

It is quite tempting as I have a few spare packs of cells now. But I would be racing far too many cars though.........

Buggy, TC, Mini and Mardave. It would cost me a fortune in race fees!!!!

i've got one of the small lrp ones, super sport i think £60 but it'll run 6 cells to so would be fine for tc racing if i got stuck, think it's got a 14t limit, but there are a few of the small lrp ones at different prices. also helps to have a small speedo, once you turn round the servo to get the weight back, it leaves very little room for speedo, reciver, and transponder

Obviously everyone should really get a Slash, but indoors Mardaves are perhaps the next best thing. I was looking at the website a few months ago and just got confused like Paul, not very obvious which one you're supposed to go with. I wonder if I could bring myself to use 4 cell NiMh or maybe NiCad again.
