What do we all think about running a new class for odd ball cars.

You can run anything that is 1/10th electric powered by a 540 type motor to keep the speed down and is not a modern racing buggy (year 2000 on) or 4wd touring car (year 2000 on).

So we are open to such vehicles like:

FWD touring cars - (tamiya mini)
F1 Cars - (Tamiya F1)
Monster trucks - (Tamiya Monster Beetle, Clodbuster)
Slashes - (traxxas Slash)
Classic models - (Optima Mid, Mardave meteor, Cougar 2)

Any other rule suggestion please post below

would be good fun but to mix all them on track at once would be a nightmare, i think there would need to be some kind of retrictions

The Slash doesn't have a stock 540, it's a 550 12 turn, pretty slow, but not that slow.

I would prefer to race only Slashs, but like most of the other cars there's only one of them, so this is our best bet of having a play with cars we wouldn't otherwise get to race.

I've still got the minor problem of only having enough batteries to run one car to overcome before I can race the Slash at all...

I need a pinion for the optima and I don't have a 540 motor but I do have an original 240S lemans motor.

That would be fine. I think its the kind of race that lets you have a blash round the track against other unusual cars that are not going to be super quick.

Hi i'd give it a go would be fun bit like a real life mini version of the game motorstorm trucks squish minis then roll over and crash 1/8 so big will need to do a 3 point turn to get around a corner.

im in the process of buying upgrades for my mini, i would like to keep running it with the tc if possable as running it against a slash etc would be abit daft. (the slash is a wide as my mini is long)

it would be nice to have a 2wd TC class :)

As the Slash will always be travelling sideways you could say that it would be much wider, although only a bit longer.

As Dave is frightened maybe best if he sticks with TCs. I'm sure Tom's mini will hold no fear, Slash will be on best behaviour of course. I hadn't really bought the Slash to race alongside mini's, I want to race Slashs, but racing with Odd Balls is better than not racing at all.

I alway's wished touring cars had been 2wd, simpler, nicer handling, less strain on everything.

Interestingly at the 1/10th AGM there is proposals for a GT10 class, some manufacturers have been bringing out 1/10th scale pan style cars, so the rules will be for GT body shells on simple 1/10th scale chassis'.

I have half finished my mini, but I couldn't find a standard 540, so I have my 3.5 in at the moment. I wonder how many laps it would do before the gearbox turned to molten plastic!!!!!!!
