well? should we? or would it be deemed a bit unprofessional to fun them at a big meet?

we could get the word out v soon if we decide to do it and try to get some more toys from other clubs to join in!

we'd perhaps have to rely on volunteers/club members to marshall it?

could be entertaining and open some eyes to the wonderful world of oddballing as its become known!

Don't know if we will have time to run these extra classes?

Optima is a 4wd 1/10th Buggy, there is a class for that at the regionals already. Win again? Implies it has happened once already?

I was thinking of this too, there's a few threads on Oople of people trying truck classes. If we had the time in the day it wouldn't do any harm for an odd ball class. I don't know where we draw the line though, somewhere below Dave's Marder, but people may not really be up for racing against E-Revos either and it seems a bit daft running 4WD buggies in an odd ball class.

that is a good point, if the guys with 4wd buggies are racing, they will probably be running in the 4wd class, so that would leave 2 revos (IF there running), a slash and 2 trucks?

I guess we need to check with Southport & Bury to see what they think. But as this is an official Northwest regional, not sure how it will go down?

Ste, Ste, Ste, Ste, Ste!!!!!!!

I wish you would engage brain before coming up with these ideas

It is a 1/10th scale Off Road regional.

The guy's are involved for one reason to compete and match their skills against others
in the same classes.

Would you ever see a bunch of manufacturers pit their millions of pounds worth of F1 cars against
the equivalent rally cars. No!

We have no spectators to watch it, and nobody to impress, so what really is the point.

If you want 5 mins to have a play then I can work it in.

Hey Glen,

Why not!

The technology of the electric's has future proofed the Optima and brought it back.

It maybe is a little on the heavy side but apart from that it is not very different
to a modern 4x4 buggy.

I say bring it on.

I need tires and a good speedo and motor and cells and a transmitter. Does anyone have some gear I can borrow for the regional?

Think a odd ball class at the end of the meeting would be a good idea . all 10 cars go at once 1 heat winner takes all short and sweet. + a bit of carnage for good measure.) Think just because its the last round we cant have a bit of FUN !! thats why we do it at the end of the day isnt it ? Sure the red mist my come down every now and then but at the end of the day if WE dont enjoy our hobby why bother turning up . well theres my 50p worth :)
