Hiya,

I am doing well too, I am married with our first on the way.

I work and live in Preston now, most of the clubs members live down here too.

I saw Mark not so long ago when I was racing at Morecambe. He said you had opened your own garage down there and you still had your red fiesta!!

Hello mate,

Yeah I keep in touch with Mark quite a bit.

I run my own company Norris Motorsport. Basically I tune cars, and have been running this company for some 8 years now. Gone from strength to strength really. Hard work but I still enjoy it!!

Yeah the red Fieats still exists. Its a company demo vehicle, 4wd powered by two Cossie engines! One mid mounted one front mounted!!!

Also have a 720bhp RS500 as my Sunday car!

Congrats on your expecting your first child. Is really hard work at first due to sleepless nights but its does get easier, and its an amazing feeling to have your own kids!!!

I assume you must drive to kendal from Preston then do you to race the RC cars?

Blimey sounds to be going well

Your RS500 sounds like a monsterous weapon!!!!! Its amazing that your red Fessa is still in the land of the living, that must have taken some engineering to get both engines working together.

The baby is due at the end of September so I am in full swing decorating the nursery at the mo.

I am working as a Graphic designer in preston now, but I have toyed with the idea of having my own business. How do you find it running your own?

Hi Tom,

Running your own business is hard work!!! The hours are long, many of them spent doing your paper work, invoicing and book keeping!! Not fun I can tell you!

What I would say is with the little en on the way, now is a BAD time to work for yourself. You will need the free time and security a regular job offers with a child, especially as you will be VERY tired for the first 18 months due to lack of sleep. Imagine having to work 15 hour days and then come home to a crying baby and get no sleep!!!!

However once your child/children are at school then YES I would recommend you work for yourself. Things get easier with time, and you have the benefits of freedom and of course the financial benefits that come with it.

Good luck if you do decide to set up on your own!! My only advice would be take it one step at a time and not to try to become to big too soon. It takes years to get a good reputation, which is essential if you want to be financially successfull.
