More off-road indoor would be sweet, be it jumps or a bit of lino/astro/shagg pile down, and would save wear on the carpet to. Worn mini pins/spikes get the vote for me.

Does anyone have dimensions for the racing space in the hall?

tyre changes AGAIN?!?!!?

foams work, it gives an even playing field for all. Worn spikes wont work, as someone might have some that are less worn than everyone elses, and gain an advantage from it. Policing it would be nigh-on impossible, and I can see there being alot of arguments arising from that. Running new spikes may or may not ruin the carpet - we won't know until we try it. The problem with new spikes is the advantage you'd get from using really new tyres - which would mean a new set of tyres every couple of weeks to be competitive. I couldn't justify that.

So sticking with foams gets my vote! There barely showing any wear, so I can see the tyres everyone has invested in for this season will last at least another one, or two winters!

Well if club members want to keep with foams, then foams it is. We can have a full discussion at the AGM

After trying pins last week at RVRCC it makes me want to spend more time on them.

Main issue is people want to keep running foams, I don't see why we can't run both.

Proposal for the AGM:

If agreed we allow any tyre for the remaining meetings after AGM (sounds like we're going to allow anything at the rally meeting anyway). Foams will probably be the most competitive so it's not a big issue for those who stay on them and it gives us a chance to assess tyre/carpet wear. We can then make a decision for next year at the end of indoors.

I notice that this idea has been mentioned, but for buggies we should be able to introducse some off-road features that are easily removable from the track for the TC heat(s) .
It may be worth discussion as it will make the driving of a buggy more interesting indoors (with or without foams).

Yep we are seriously missing a trick by not including the stage in the track:

Or figure of 8:

that track layout would be so much better than the boring flat track being used atm, we race 1/10th off road buggys not 1/10th touring cars. but have a track any tyre more suited to the 10th touring car class. bring back jumps & rubber !

Those tracks are exactly what I'm thinking about lots more interesting than a flat track and a really good way to attract new members

Even though iv recently got foams sorted. I would prefer mini pins or similar. Also more jumps etc as already mentioned. There are way more set ups available (for people like me who are learning how to set up the buggys) these types of tracks + as the hall is quite small the jumps/more tricky sections would slow it down a bit and be more exciting to drive taking more skill. The carpet is knackered anyway?! but i understand there is a large cost in buying new carpet.

I like Scotts good idea using matting or something different on maybee corners so the pins dont scrub the carpet too much. Ribble seem to use polly sheet on one section light to carry and easy to lay down.

Mini pins please :P
