so would the members of our club like to run a round of the regonals again like the old days?
it means a bit of extra work from everyone, and atleast the saturday afternoon before spend setting up the track, mowing ect. we'll have to approach the school if everyones interested.

I think I would like to attend either a Southport or Bury regional first to get a look at the way they do it and what sorts of processes they have in place to make the meet run smoothly. Things like transmitter compound and scruteneering - not sure if they still have these things nowadays. I guess the BRCA hand book will have this sort of stuff.

I'm voting yes. This is something I think would be good for the club and the events are really enjoyable. We have the chance to show off our club, run at other tracks and attract new members.

the track neeeds to be certain width, transmitter compounds are not needed, we would need a rostrum big enough for 10 drivers, however if we're using that banking as we normaly do we'd be fine with somthing like school gym benches, as you can see plenty from up there.
we'd also need to arrange to either get all the other drivers details on a disk to load onto our pc, or more likly we'd use one of the other clubs laptops as we have in the past. we've done it before, and we can do it now, as long as most of the members are behind it and can make the extra effort the day before, and the school are happy to let us hold a big event there

I am up for it, but I think the only issues we might have is setting up the day before and it all getting trashed over night and is there enough room to build a big enough track and having enough hose?

I think using another clubs race equipment sounds good as out transponders can be a bit dodgy.

I think if we get the school involved and they supply toilet facilities and they do a bbq / food they will do very well and we can offer them a cut of the race fees.

agree with Tom, the main issues really would be providing toilets and catering. when theres just a few of us, we can cope with nipping into the bushes, but people will expect basic facilities at a regional. Perhaps we could look into hiring a block/portaloos using the money from the day to cover these costs? and invite a local burger van down for grub. if we can sort that, then go for it!

We should do it, how about allocating jobs? We could have weekly meetings to make sure it all goes well.

I think Paul's suggestion of getting down to a regional would be good for anyone who's not done one. But probably not possible before we were committed if we were talking of putting one on next year.

I think I've got a pretty good idea of what would be involved and obviously quite a lot of effort. I'm sure we could do it, but would need a group of people prepared to put in the effort and who can guarantee their time whenever it is next year.

i am up for it and will say yes plus i do know bot somone with a burger van and the local porta loo people so i can look in to costs and things and i would be up for the xtra work needed think the main part is marshaling as always but things that can be sorted i think it would be good for the club as we used to do things like that when i was last racing all those years ago, we even had a cumbria chalange that was a big event .
