Hi does anyone no the standard pinion and spergear sizes for my brushless 3.5 because i think because of my gearing it's getting a little toasty under the bodyshell. At the moment i've got a 22 pinion and a 72 tooth sper. I think :?

I think Tom was using a 14 pinion, until he got sensible and put a 8.5 motor in.

The only pinions I would run in my XXX with the 3.5 was a 14 or a 15, anything more would have it over geared, unless the straight was 100 metres long.

Only problem getting it to fit, you need the biggest spur (green one I think) and then the gear cover needs to be modified to go back on with out catching on the spur. You may also have to modify the screw slots of the motor to get it to mesh ok. I was ok, as I had a trinity motor plate which let it all mesh no probs.

Thats the one. I had to chop the gear cover to bits to get it to fit

i think your going too far with 14, i've got a 4.5 in mine, and i'm running a 20t pinion, and the internal ratios between b4 and xxx are fairly close and my cars fine, stops it pulling wheelies at the slightest twitch on the big toe one someone else's right foot
