David's T1R came with a copy of an older version of the book. I had a look when I was thinking of getting a T2, the big thing was Xray's Multi-Flex Technology, they take two pages on how to set the car up on soft, medium and stiff settings, but give no information on why you would want a bendy chassis or what effects the changes are likely to make. Some interesting bits in the rest of the book though.

I think you want flex in the chassis on low grip surfaces. Can't remember why. To be honest, your average driver will do much better not crashing than worring about flex.

i think its somthing to do with a flexable chassie hiding minor setup errors
