Hi everyone.

Most of you know I'm getting married this year, 4th April in fact. With Rick's help we have a stag do planned for Saturday 7th March. The plan is to do some off roading during the day. Not big 4x4 off roading, but smaller buggies. Firstly in some 'Powerturn' buggies, pretty cool sounding two seaters where left person gets to control the left engine/drive wheel and the right hand person gets control of the right, no doubt this results in hillariously crazy driving and most people will be pleased to hear they can even pull wheelies!!! After that should be a session in some more normal single seater off road buggies.

The location for this is expected to be around Manchester, so after the off roading we'll get some food then go for beers. We're trying to sort some cheap accommodation for those on the beers. Off roading should cost £69 for both sessions, accommodation is hopefully in the £20-30 per head mark.

All SLMCC members are invited!! I'm guessing this mostly applies to over 18s, if there are younger members keen on a trip to Manchester for off roading, we can see what age rules apply. The places are probably limited for the off roading, but there is unlimited places for the subsequent beers!

Anyone fancies it let me or Rick know asap, we need to finalise the booking of the off roading and accommodation, obviously the evening stuff is a bit more flexible. Hope to see you there!

Ian

How are you doing for numbers? I found it really hard to get enough people for karting and that was only £35.

I'm not totally sure at the moment as we have to tax both cards at the end of the month. When do you need to know by?

Sorry I know it's expensive, just couldn't get round it to get the Powerturns. Numbers aren't so much of a problem as they are with karting, I think we only need 10 or so, although we're trying to get a definite answer on that. Also not got a definite date for confirming numbers, but I guess sooner the better. If it helps I can fill out the SORN form for you? Sorry not funny  . Would be great if you could make it though :).

Well there has been a slight change of plan. To quote Rick the off roading was starting to sound pants. So we have booked some good old go karting instead :D.

3 Sisters in Wigan, twin engined outdoor fun, £55 for practice, 3 heats and 2 finals for everyone and we get the track to ourselves. Numbers are very flexible, so if you fancy it, let us know. 2:30pm on 7th March.

Okay I checked on the age restriction for karting, it's 16+, so sorry to any younger members. But it's maybe safer at home with hooligans like Tom and Dave on the track.

To clarify the format, everyone should get a practice, 3 rounds of heats and one final, A/B depending on how you qualify. For each qualifying round drivers will be randomly put into a first/second heat, so everyone should get to qualify against each other.

The usual suspects from here, me, Rick, you, Ste, Dave and I think John also. A few family members and a few friends from work, 15ish all in.

I'd asked a few people from uni who would be quick, not sure who will make it though as none are local and they're already coming up for the wedding.

My cousin's done a lot of biking and may fly in a kart. A few people from work may do okay. Any of us lot can have a good day. I'm pretty sure we'll have some good racing :).

I don't really mind wet or dry, I like the challenge of the wet, I like the speed of the dry.
