I was trying to work out whether there was much difference between the Futaba dual or single antenna FASST receivers (R603FF and R603FS). So I did a range check with my E-Revo at the docks where I'd had trouble with my FM system. Results were pretty damn good. I'd heard the range was supposed to be good, so to give it a chance of failing I coiled the antennas up inside the trucks Rx box. Then drove as far away as I could see and had absoultely zero problems with either receiver, at least twice as far as where my FM system started to have problems. I even held my transmitter in the boot of the car, with the full length of the car obscuring it and still no problems. I can't see much point in uncoiling the aerial.

Yes, came in just over a week. One slight problem though, they were supposed to send me two R603FSs, but I got one FS and one FF. Partly why I did the range check, however despite not being able to tell the difference between my current R603FF and the new R603FS, I sent the incorrect R603FF back anyway because the price difference was only $3. They offered to refund the $3 plus $10 compensation, but I didn't want to have any problems down the line and wish I'd got the FS. The FF may well have been fine, but Futaba seem to be perservering with the dual antenna thing so there must be something in it. Did think after I'd sent it maybe should have offered it to you, doubt your Mardave will be going out of range!

A bit annoyed they messed up the order, but they were easy to get on the phone and they should be sorting it at no cost to me, the price was about the best and I'd happily order from them again. Postage was less than some UK shops now .

The replacement receiver turned up okay, now just hope they get the returned one back. So my buggy should be FASST tomorrow!

Ian, what are you doing about powering you transmitter, have you just got 8 AA rechargable NiMH cells in it?

Yeah I've just got 8 AA rechargables, seem to last well. I would like to put a LiPo in to make it lighter to hold, but probably won't get round to that for some time.
