Hi,

Since my last race I flushed my Tamiya TA-05 (touring car) dampers clean and added 40w Schumacher oil, because that's all I had. However, I went to the Carlisle track yesterday for a practise and the car was sideways round corners! Not good.

I guess the new oil could have something to do with this. I have got different pistons I could try - the ones in at the moment have only one hole. Should I experiment with this or try a different oil? If oil is the way to go, what is a good all round grade bearing in my the Carlisle track has lots of tight turns.

Cheers,
Barry

- The back end steps out
- Can't tell whether a wheel is being picked up
- Ride height is about 7mm front and 12mm rear
- Didn't check tyre temperature
- Shocks are rear: outer hole on mount and inner on wishbone, front does not have option to switch position
- It is the IFS version

Cheers,
Barry

I should add, the back end steps out when accelerating out of corners, but the car understeers going into bends at speed. I've just got back from the track and messed about with the setup. One thing that did seem to help was using the NiCad as opposed to Lipo, so maybe I just need more weight on the car when using the Lipo.

Cheers,
Barry

How do you reduce anti-squat? Stiffer rear suspension?

Cheers,
Barry

anti squat is the level of your wish bones to the chassis. what you need to do is bring the front edge of the wishbones lower / more horezontal.
