I've now got a proper balance charger for lipo's does 1-4 cells seems to be working well. There's alot of talk on heli forums that the esky charger is really bad, but the first charge with the cell pro showed my 2 2 cell packs that i've had 6 months are still fairly close to balanced.

Helicopter flying skills improving but battery/main motor giving up. Power and flying time reducing and now main rotor won't start with out a push, does it need a new battery, charger, motor or all three??!

i'm still on the same main motor and i think ian is. lipo cells are quite easy to damage, teh charger you get with them is pants but i can't imagin it being the cause of any problems already. my guess would be that you'verun the battery too flat. i think it's 3v per cell below that they get damaged very quickly. Do you fly till it won't lift off?

usually stop flying as power drops, is it better to charge after say 10 mins even though its still flying ( not that it's flown for 10 mins non stop!)

yeah my main motor has been fine, the motors don't even get that hot, compared to my Lama anyway.

It is probably the battery. I don't know how good the stock charger is, but it's never given me any problems, I used it pretty well every day for a month in Australia. The original battery still seems fine, but I do stop after 10-15 minutes or as soon as I feel any power loss.

I let my Lama run flat only a few times and that battery is now the weakest one I've got.

Ian
