We sold off the old leisure battery at the end of the last outdoor season so we need to get a new one sorted, who's seen a bargin? or do we think about splashing out on a kippor silent genny?

Just been doing some hunting
something decent like a kipor silent genny £280 + juice
Varta 95AH deep cycle leisure battery £100
broken kipor?
£51
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kipor-Generat ... 231a02b83a

£21
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KIPOR-IG2000- ... 1c2401e805

£0.99
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kipor-IG-1000 ... 27c3b5fb5e

if we're looking at new, it's got to be leisure battery route, can replace it 3 times for the cost without even thinking about the petrol costs but maybe we could buy the 0.99p one and the £21 quid one, they sound like different faults, so hopefully donor one to repair the other, but it's a bit of a gamble

edit found the genny cheaper

Leisure battery for my money rather than a smelly genny. Mine and Ste's came from here:

£65+Vat for 110Ah

Genny is good a good idea as long as it is quiet for those early sunday morning in Kendal. Storage is a problem though.
A Battery is fine in the main too, could we hire a genny for the Steam Fair and the Regional?

The 750w or 1000w kipor ones are meant to be 65db, so plenty quiet enough and only weight 16 kilos, lighter than a big leisure battery, and not much difference size wise. we already have petrol for the mower to deal with.
if we decide to go for battery power i'm sure we can drum up an extra battery or 2 from the start, my 110ah one could have been added into the race control one if we'd planned ahead
