Ok, I have been doing some thinking about the steam gathering and what we can do diferently this year. 1. We might want to get a board with the times we are racing and if we are doing anything else interesting like the endurance race etc. 2. Could we do a competition where we get a complete buggy fairly cheap and let the paying public do say, 5 laps for £5 and the person who gets the best laptime wins the buggy at the end off the weekend. If the buggy costs say, £100 all we need it for 20 people to have a co and it covers the cost and we would be able to make a decent bit of profit for the club. |

both good ideas! does anyone know anyone who has a sandwich board??? Rick has a spare B4 now (and Joeys....) stick a 540 or 27 turn in, job done! its probably better being a B4 or xxx as we'll have lots of spares, then maybe get one of those cheap ansmann kits to give away as a prize maybe? we need lots of space for truck bashing |

like the idea of letting what could be new members have a go .I would of done last year !! The idea of a rtr prize is a good one mite be worth getting something people could run at the club and what about a cut price race licance for 2nd place , and the spare money left over why not donate it ?? . Think the clubs going to do well on the funds front with the reginals ect . |

The first idea of sandwich board with times, is good, providing we all ensure we stick to it. I think we'd be ok letting the public have a go since the brca cover new drivers for 3 meetings, not sure we'd be able to pull it off with just 1 car, and having 2 cars so there could be a bit of a race might work, and maybe more like £2 for 3 laps. Maybe we should see how we get on ££ wise at the regional and if we make some use that to get a cheap rtr, i'm sure between us we can come up with 2 cars, and the club would be able to cover the cost of any damage |

Great ideas guys, £2 sound a better option. What about cells? Does anyone have spare cells they don't use? |

i have 2 packs spare, though i'm sure if we put it on the board at set times we could all spare a pack, with a short break after before we race again. i've got my genny working againg so i can provide 2 12v battery chargers, and mains for tx charges ect, last time it cost me about £10 for the weekend constant running |

make sure you keep them Nimh's charged, once a week is good once the voltage drops below 0.9v in a cell it's a downwards spiral |

I have another idea. We have an endurance event, so why don't we sell raffle tickets to the public to guess the winning teams lap number. The closest gets a set of steak knifes.......or a cheep new car........most of the people will be with kids. They spend £2 on 2 minute rides that are mostly rubbish. Why wouldn't they spend £2 for 5 tickets to win a car. If we can get a RTR for say less than £100 it should make us some money. And if it doesn't we won't miss £100. |
