Right guys i have a few questions about BRCA rules

1) In the 2WD class a car must only be driven by 2 wheels, does this mean i could run a 4WD with a diff removed so im only getting drive with 2 wheels or does the car have to be a 2WD car?

2) Does it matter which 2 wheels are driven, or is a FWD buggy legal?

Fwd cars certainly used to be legal, all the rules should be in the brca handbook, or on the brca website. i dont see why you cant run a 4wd with the front diff, and driveshafts removed, and i think you'd also be ok to remove rear diff, obviously not at the same time, or you really would find poor acceleration, and an imesurably low top speed!

Give it a go, but I think your Losi will be faster. I thought it would be fun to try a touring car with the front diff removed. It was, but it was very slow, the weight distribution is all about having 4wd, if you make it 2wd it's very hard to put the power down.

Also the front caster is totally different. The reason is 2wd are more prone to rotate on turn in. To counter it the caster is set to induce under steer. To see the difference put full lock on your 4wd and the wheel we remain upright. Do the same with your XXX and the wheel will lean into the car like you have loads of negative camber. The result is it will want to spin all the time. FWD would be better but much slower than your XXX. Another difference is 2wd has rear toe in, where the rear wheels are angled inwards by 2 - 2.5 degrees I think. It helps keep the car going in a straight line. 4wd don't generally have this because they are pulling with the front wheels.

Ive got 3 of them now so i will experiment abit and see what its like, the reason i asked is coz the 4wd just feels a smoother more balenced car maybe removing the front drive will spoil it im not sure yet.
