Ok, I have had enough of my crappy servo's now.

So it is time to invest in a new fast servo.

What would we all recommend? Can I run digital with my current Ko Espritt transmitter?

Digital servos will work with your KO, but they won't respond quite as fast as with newer radios.

I've been running two Hitec digital servos for ages now, they seem okay, but I'd probably go with Futaba if I changed again. Savox servos at Microtech seem popular at the moment. KOs are very expensive. How bad is your current servo? You probably won't find a huge difference with anything.

This low profile Futaba is popular in touring cars, can't see why it wouldn't be good in buggies:

There is the new brushless Futaba BLS451, I don't really know how that would compare to the one above.

As a cheaper alternative I've been really happy with the servo in my Slash, waterproof and digital for £26, a little slower than the stuff above:

The traxas one is very close to the performance of that hitec you have from Jo's car so if that's no good the traxas one won't be either!
i've got the futaba low profile in the pred, and again it's not all that it's plenty quick enough but it's just a little bit low on torque, either that or my servo saver is a bit like ste, a weak girl!

These have had really good reviews from people on oople more torque, faster and most importantly for Tom cheep!

just looked at the prices of KO there taking the p1ss

The Savox look like best bang per buck on paper. Can he convince Mrs Tom that he needs to spend £50 for 80 milliseconds faster steering?

Mrs Tom has given me the ok, as I have done a bucket load of freelance work which I get paid for next month.

How does the savox speed compare to a good KO servo, as I have always been a KO man?

it's 0.02 seconds slower than the £107 KO i really doubt you'd notice that, unless your having a lock to lock race with ste, even then he'll get an extra few movments in!

The KO 2123 is the one I just put in the b4, I didn't realise that was the price though! Paid £28 from ebay for mine, RESULT!
Only used it for the steam fair and although it was not supposed to be quicker than the one I took out it seemed more direct - if that makes sense!

A good servo is a must if you want to go quick. Some people buy cheep new but I would much rather get a good used one off eBay.

I agree. And since you have just hit 30, I would get the fastest you can afford, those reflexes are only going to go one way now Tom!

Ok, I have the option of either a Savox 1257 or a Ko 2123 at the same price. What do we think people?

I do like the jo 2123, not sure I would be happy paying over 100 notes for it though.

Uber bargain Tom, just to keep your ebay skills fresh though you could look at one of the newer faster radios to get the most out of the servo like the 3GR/3VC or KO Esprit Type R or Esprit 3.

Not crashing would make more of a difference.
